Did you know that pigs in New Zealand aren’t allowed to eat meat unless you can 100% guarantee that it has been……
- Cooked for 1 hour at 100 degrees celcius or above
- That it has been stirred frequently throughout this 1 hour cooking process


Why is this?
New Zealand has strict biosecurity laws that prevent the introduction and spread of deadly diseases such as foot and mouth disease. We need to protect our pigs!
Border security do their part by ensuring that no pork products are allowed to enter into NZ as you exit the plane. Even baby food containing pork products have to be destroyed. If MPI are working so hard to do their bit, surely us lifestyle blockers can do our bit, right?
What happens if you don’t adhere to these regulations?
